Detailed Itineraries
Day 1: Visits Orphanage in Arusha/ Maji ya Chai
Pick up from your hotel in Arusha and visit TWO orphanage
centres: CCF (Children for Children's Future) has two main
centers in the Arusha area. One is in Arusha Town (a
drop-in-centre); the other is a residential facility at Maji
ya Chai Area, 12 miles from Arusha. It normally houses
street children and orphans as a result of HIV & AIDS
diseases. Children are required to stay at Kaloleni for
three months before they are referred to Maji ya Chai, if
necessary. Maji ya Chai is their long-term residential
centre where those children get basic care, along with the
opportunity to attend a formal primary and secondary school.
Others are in vocational training colleges.
Dinner and overnight at Meru Simba Lodge.
Day 2: Visit handicapped College at Usa-river & orphanage
Centre at Nkoaranga Hospital:
In the morning, pick up from Meru Simba Lodge and visit the
TWO places which are described below;
Usa-river, College for handicapped;
Is One of the best Colleges in the country for disabled
(handicapped) People, initiated by the Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Tanzania, E.L.C.T. (Meru Diocese) is situated just
near the main Road (Arusha-Moshi) in Usa-river town. In this
college, students learn many technical forms in which they
can be used for self employment e.g. starting small
industries. There is also a small shop where you can buy
their products and it welcomes visitors.
Nkoaranga Hospital;
Centre for orphanage Children, initiated by the Evangelical
Lutheran Church of Tanzania, E.L.C.T. (Meru Diocese).The
centre cares/cures the Orphanage children who lost their
mother during the giving birth or those who their mother get
pregnancy out of marriage and threw them away after giving
birth. By visiting this centre, you will real experience how
Churches in Tanzania take cure for Orphanage Children.
Visitors are warmly well come to visit this centre. Center’s
history and more information will be provided by Officials
for those decided to visit this place.
Dinner and overnight at Meru Simba Lodge.
Day 3: Arusha National Park
In the morning, we’ll visit Arusha National Park. This
unique park contains three distinct habitats within its
boundaries. Ngurdoto Crater is a thickly wooded caldera
filled with wildlife. The floor of the crater is off-limits,
to protect the animals from human disturbance. But there are
a series of look-outs ringing the crater, from which you may
look down into the caldera with its black rhino, buffalo,
elephants, and monkeys. Or look up, to catch a glimpse of
Kilimanjaro in the distance. Mount Meru is the
fourth-largest mountain in Africa, and offers the distinct
mountain forest species such as colobus and Sykes monkeys,
as well as hippo, rhino, giraffe, and elephant. The Momela
Lakes are a series of seven lakes, varying in alkalinity and
wildlife, where you may see Pink-backed Pelicans and Greater
Flamingoes.
Picnic Lunch will be provided at the park and continue with
afternoon game viewing. (You may do canoeing or walking
safari at extra cost if you are interested). In the evening,
you will drive back to Arusha Town and being dropped of at
your hotel in town.
